Showcase your airport’s environmental excellence with ACI EUROPE Eco-Innovation Award

mars 25, 2026
The Eco-Innovation Award, presented by ACI EUROPE in partnership with Airport Carbon Accreditation, recognises a European airport that demonstrates strong environmental performance and a clear commitment to innovation in environmental management.
Airports are invited to highlight an innovative project in one of five sub-disciplines of environmental management:
- Climate Change
- Noise Management
- Biodiversity and Wildlife Management
- Air Quality
- Circular Economy
Over the years, the award has celebrated a diverse range of projects. From renewable energy initiatives and energy efficiency improvements to creative ways of engaging partners on site, airports have shown how targeted action can deliver measurable results. The 2025 winner, Maastricht Aachen Airport, was recognised for its Electrifly project, which supports the development of a zero emissions travel experience. Toulon Hyères Airport received the award in 2024 for its solar power plant that produces up to 690 MWh of green electricity a year, following Gatwick Airport, the 2023 winner, and Bristol Airport and iGA Istanbul Airport, which shared the award in 2022.
Submissions are free of charge and are open until 31 March. The awards ceremony will take place during the ACI EUROPE Annual Congress and General Assembly in Prague, Czech Republic, on 23 June 2026. Detailed award criteria can be found here, along with further information on how to apply. This Award is limited to European airports.
