Noi Bai International Airport joins Airport Carbon Accreditation at Level 1

septembre 29, 2026
Noi Bai International Airport has joined Airport Carbon Accreditation at Level 1, becoming the first airport in Vietnam to participate in the programme.
To meet the requirements of Level 1, the airport reviewed the activities under its management, identified relevant emission sources and collected the data needed to establish its greenhouse gas inventory. This covers emissions from fuel used by vehicles, generators, machinery and equipment, wastewater treatment, refrigerants and purchased electricity.
Using this data, Noi Bai prepared a Carbon Footprint Report detailing the calculation methodology, activity data, emission factors and resulting emissions. This provides the airport with an initial quantitative understanding of the emissions associated with the activities it manages and establishes a basis for future carbon management and reduction efforts.
Commenting on the achievement, Stefano Baronci, Director General of ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East, said: “We congratulate Noi Bai International Airport for achieving Level 1 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation. By positioning itself as one of the leaders in efficient carbon management, Noi Bai International Airport displays a robust commitment to building a more sustainable future. This accomplishment aligns perfectly with our industry’s collective vision of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.”
