Alghero Airport reaches Level 2 Reduction

février 12, 2025
We are delighted to announce that Alghero Airport in Italy has successfully upgraded to Level 2 Reduction of the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme.
Operated by SO.GE.A.AL, Alghero Airport has demonstrated effective carbon management by setting clear targets and successfully reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
The airport has implemented a structured approach to emissions reduction, focusing on optimising energy consumption, integrating renewable energy sources, and deploying advanced high-efficiency technologies such as LED lighting, inverter motors, and automated climate control systems.
In addition to reducing its own emissions, Alghero Airport is working closely with all airport stakeholders to promote sustainability objectives, ensuring a collaborative approach to minimising environmental impacts. This includes raising awareness among airport operators and implementing continuous monitoring and verification processes to align with evolving environmental goals.
Silvio Pippobello, CEO of Alghero Airport, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating: “We are extremely proud of this result, which represents a fundamental step in our commitment to sustainability.”
