11 Aena Brasil airports accredited at Level 1

février 3, 2026
Eleven airports in Brazil operated by Aena Brasil have joined the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme at Level 1. This milestone means that all 17 Aena Brasil airports are now certified under the programme.
By achieving Level 1 accreditation, these airports have completed their first verified carbon footprint. This enables them to understand how much carbon they emit each year and which activities and operations are responsible, providing a robust foundation for planning effective emissions reduction measures.
Rafael Echevarne, Director General of ACI LAC, celebrated Aena Brasil’s achievement: “It is a source of great pride to see Aena Brasil achieve certification for 11 more airports under the Airport Carbon Accreditation program. This accomplishment, part of the company’s climate action plan, ensures that 100% of its airports in Brazil are now certified, reinforcing a responsible stance in the face of climate change challenges. It is a significant step that strengthens the sustainable development of the airport industry in Latin America and the Caribbean. As one of the global sector’s leading players, Aena reaffirms its leadership and inspires the entire region to move toward a more innovative, resilient, and future committed aviation industry.”
Filipe Reis, Director of Communications, Institutional Relations and ESG at Aena Brasil, added: “Level 1 certification at Aena’s airports in Brazil reflects our commitment to sustainability and climate management. In just over two years since assuming operations, we have structured processes and indicators that allow us to accurately measure carbon emissions and chart pathways to reduce them. This demonstrates leadership and alignment with international best practices. We continue advancing our work to achieve higher levels.”
