Three airports operated by Dammam Airports advance in Airport Carbon Accreditation

Three airports in Saudi Arabia operated by Dammam Airports advance their carbon management efforts.

Al Qaisumah–Hafar Al Batin Airport and Al-Ahsa International Airport have joined the programme at Level 1. At this initial level, both airports commit to conducting a comprehensive assessment of their CO₂ emissions and putting in place the foundations for effective and measurable carbon reduction plans.

King Fahd International Airport has progressed to Level 2 following its entry into the programme in September 2024. The airport has strengthened its maintenance programme for HVAC systems, significantly reducing refrigerant loss and improving energy performance. It has also completed a full transition to LED lighting across its facilities, resulting in substantial reductions in energy use and operational costs.
