Swedavia AB becomes the very first national airport group…

October 8, 2012

It’s a very big day today. This morning in Stockholm, the Sweden’s airport group Swedavia AB became the very first national airport group in the world to become CARBON NEUTRAL. Its 10 airports: Stockholm Arlanda, Göteborg-Landvetter, Bromma Stockholm, Malmö, Luleå, Umeå, Åre Östersund, Visby, Ronneby and Kiruna have each succeeded in achieving accreditation at the ‘Neutrality’ level of the programme.  They have all actively reduced their CO2 by over 33,000 tonnes. They have succeeded in getting other stakeholders at their airports to reduce CO2 and finally, they have offset the remaining CO2 under their control (5610 tonnes of CO2). CONGRATULATIONS SWEDAVIA!
