Recognising environmental management excellence and innovation with the ACI EUROPE Eco-Innovation Award

The Eco-Innovation Award, presented by ACI EUROPE in partnership with Airport Carbon Accreditation, celebrates airports in Europe that have taken their environmental management to new heights. Open to airports of all sizes, this award acknowledges outstanding initiatives that push the boundaries of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Each year, one airport is selected for its exceptional contribution in one of four key areas: climate change, noise management, biodiversity and wildlife management, or circular economy. The award encourages airports to lead the way in innovative, impactful, and scalable environmental practices.

The most recent recipients of the award reflect the diverse and forward-thinking approaches airports are taking to sustainability. Toulon-Hyères Airport was recognised in 2024 for its commitment to reducing its environmental impact, following in the footsteps of Gatwick Airport, the 2023 winner, and Bristol Airport and iGA Istanbul Airport, which shared the award in 2022.

Submissions are free of charge and open until 2 May, with the awards ceremony taking place on 19 June in Athens during the 35th ACI EUROPE Annual Congress & General Assembly. Detailed award criteria can be found here, and further information on how to apply here.
