Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport joins at Level 2

Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport in North Macedonia has joined Airport Carbon Accreditation at Level 2, becoming the second airport in the country to participate in the programme alongside Skopje International Airport (accredited at Level 3).

Operated by TAV Macedonia, a subsidiary of TAV Airports and a member of the Groupe ADP network, the airport is strengthening its long term carbon management framework in line with its objective to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

Progress to Level 2 reflects a structured approach to emissions reduction, supported by concrete measures across airport operations. These include the transition of vehicle fleets, the increased use of battery powered and hybrid ground support equipment, optimisation of energy consumption, greater use of renewable energy and investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Additional actions cover improvements in waste management, water use efficiency programmes, staff training and awareness initiatives, and the establishment of a Sustainability Committee to oversee environmental risks and maintain carbon reduction as a strategic priority.
