Jersey Airport upgrades to Level 4 of Airport Carbon Accreditation

Jersey Airport has achieved Level 4 of Airport Carbon Accreditation, reflecting its work to align carbon management with global climate goals, deliver absolute emissions reductions and deepen engagement with stakeholders across the airport ecosystem.

The airport is targeting net zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. Its approach combines operational measures with longer term investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy. This includes transitioning operational vehicles and equipment to lower carbon HVO fuel, converting terminal heating to HVO, and moving its Fire Training Ground to renewable BioLPG.

Jersey Airport is also investing in LED lighting, smart metering and building management systems to strengthen energy performance across its estate. In parallel, it is working to support more efficient aircraft operations through Continuous Climb and Continuous Descent Operations, while engaging airlines, ferry operators and suppliers in its carbon management efforts.

A newly introduced Private and Business Aviation Decarbonisation Charge will help accelerate future carbon reduction projects, alongside the development of renewable energy initiatives to support the airport’s longer term decarbonisation plans.
