Felipe Ángeles International Airport begins its carbon management journey with Level 1 accreditation

Felipe Ángeles International Airport in Mexico has officially joined the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme at Level 1. By entering at this level, the airport has committed to thoroughly assessing its carbon footprint and laying the groundwork for meaningful emissions reduction strategies.

Beyond meeting the requirements of Level 1, Felipe Ángeles International Airport has already begun taking concrete steps to reduce its environmental impact. These include improving energy efficiency across its facilities, advancing the use of renewable energy through the operation of three photovoltaic parks, and actively promoting sustainable practices among staff and strategic partners.

Dr. Rafael Echevarne, Director General of ACI Latin America and Caribbean said: “We congratulate Felipe Angeles International Airport for obtaining Level 1 accreditation from the ACA program. This achievement reflects its commitment to climate action and responsible environmental management.
