Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport becomes the first in Guinea to join Airport Carbon Accreditation

We are pleased to welcome Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport as the first airport in Guinea to join the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme, achieving Level 1 Mapping.

Operated by SOGEAC, Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport is laying the foundation for emissions reduction by systematically measuring and analysing its carbon footprint. Using the ACERT tool, the airport has begun calculating its CO₂ emissions, collecting essential data on fuel and electricity consumption to establish a clear baseline for future reductions.

Beyond emissions tracking, SOGEAC is implementing a broader environmental strategy that goes beyond carbon reduction. This includes reducing air and water pollution, enhancing green spaces to improve local biodiversity, and raising awareness among airport stakeholders and operators to encourage the reduction of environmental impacts from their activities.
