SLO County Airport joins the programme at Level 2

We are delighted to announce that SLO County Airport in the United States, has successfully entered the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme at Level 2 Reduction.

The airport has effectively demonstrated well-defined carbon management practices and target setting, that led to a significant reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

SLO County Airport is committed to implementing effective carbon reduction measures, such as constructing the terminal according to LEED green building standards and renewing its vehicle fleet.

Looking forward, the airport is exploring further innovative initiatives in collaboration with California Polytechnic State University’s City and Regional Planning Master’s Programme. Future plans include gate electrification, the use of alternative fuels, adoption of solar power, and implementation of ground source heat pumps.
