January 7, 2020
In a bid to reduce the carbon intensity of their operations, Salvador Bahia Airport operated by VINCI is implementing mprovements in the air conditioning system, installation of smart devices such as presence sensors on stairs, elevators and bathrooms and replacement of conventional lamps by LED. In addition, the airport has commenced the installation of a solar power plant. When completed, the renewable energy produced by the 11,000 PV panels will cover more than 30% of the airport’s energy needs. All these initiatives have earned the airport its successful upgrade to level 2 “Reduction” of Airport Carbon Accreditation. Congratulations to everyone that had a hand in this success!
