Memmingen Airport joins directly at Level 2

April 16, 2024

We are thrilled to announce that Memmingen Airport in Germany, has successfully joined the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme at Level 2 Reduction.

Operated by Flughafen Memmingen GmbH, Memmingen Airport has effectively demonstrated well-defined carbon management practices and target setting, leading to a significant reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

Committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2030, Memmingen Airport has launched several initiatives to meet this ambitious goal. These include integrating low-emission technologies, converting to a new LED lighting system, and transitioning the airport’s fleet to vehicles powered by renewable energy. Additionally, the airport’s energy strategy incorporates decentralised solutions such as combined heat and power plants and is enhanced by the installation of photovoltaic systems.

Aiming to develop a long-term, economical, climate-neutral, and innovative energy supply strategy, Memmingen Airport is making an important step towards decarbonisation. We look forward to witnessing their continued progress in carbon management.
