King Fahd International Airport joins at Level 1 Mapping

We are delighted to announce that King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia has successfully met all the requirements to join Airport Carbon Accreditation at Level 1 Mapping.

By joining at this level, the airport has committed to conducting a comprehensive analysis of its CO₂ emissions and developing well-structured plans to reduce them, marking a significant first step in its carbon management journey.

Operated by Dammam Airports Company, King Fahd International Airport has already implemented several initiatives to support this goal. These include the introduction of a CEO-endorsed Greenhouse Gas policy, the establishment of a dedicated sustainability team, and the implementation of a robust system for data collection, evaluation, and verification. In addition, the airport has focused on raising internal awareness and actively engaging stakeholders to ensure broad support for its environmental goals.

The airport has also launched the “Our Airport is Green” initiative, further reinforcing its commitment to sustainability. A standout achievement includes being awarded the Green Airports Recognition 2024 Gold after planting one million trees, a significant milestone in its environmental efforts.
