With this development, it becomes the first airport in Brazil to be fully self-sufficient in clean energy.<\/p>\n<p>The installation includes 1,444 solar panels with a total capacity of 1 MW. Completed within a few months after works began in October 2025, the project forms part of a broader effort to reduce the airport\u2019s carbon footprint and support more sustainable operations.<\/p>\n<p>Maca\u00e9 Airport is accredited at Level 4 of <em>Airport Carbon Accreditation<\/em> and has aligned its carbon management with long term climate goals.
