This includes collaboration with airlines and a wide range of service providers, such as independent ground handlers, catering companies, and air traffic control \u2013 all of whom play a key role in day-to-day airport operations.<\/p>\n<p>The airports have implemented an impressive range of decarbonisation initiatives aimed at cutting carbon emissions and improving operational efficiency. Their energy efficiency improvements include the installation of high-efficiency motors, LED lighting, and upgraded control systems, resulting in a reduction of more than 500 tonnes of carbon emissions. In parallel, they are expanding clean transportation, transitioning to electric vehicles and equipment, and rolling out charging infrastructure to phase out fossil fuel use.<\/p>\n<p>Further strengthening their commitment to renewable energy, both airports are progressing towards the installation of on-site solar arrays, designed to generate clean power while providing shaded parking areas.
