Six airports operated by Aeropuertos Argentina reach Level 2 Reduction

février 13, 2025

We are delighted to announce that six airports operated by Aeropuertos Argentina have successfully upgraded to Level 2 Reduction of the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme.

These airports have effectively demonstrated well-defined carbon management practices and target setting, that led to a significant reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

The six airports—Ezeiza Airport, Mendoza Airport, Córdoba Airport, Comodoro Rivadavia Airport, Iguazú Airport, and Jorge Newbery Airport—have implemented structured measures to improve energy efficiency and optimise operational sustainability. A key focus has been the transition to 100% renewable energy sources, significantly reducing electricity-related emissions. In 2023, the use of local resources also contributed to emissions reductions, with the adoption of a local quarry leading to savings of more than 130 tonnes of CO₂. Additionally, the introduction of high-performance equipment has further lowered fuel consumption, supporting the airports’ broader sustainability objectives.
