North American airports recognised for their progress in Airport Carbon Accreditation

During the 2025 ACI North America & ACI World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition in Toronto on 27 October, a ceremony was held to recognise airports across the United States and Canada for their achievements within Airport Carbon Accreditation and to highlight the steady progress of carbon management efforts across the region.

ACI North America joined Airport Carbon Accreditation in 2014 and now counts 101 accredited airports. These airports welcome 1.4 billion passengers annually, meaning that 68% of travellers in the United States and Canada pass through airports participating in the programme. Thirty-five airports are engaging their business partners in carbon footprint management at Levels 3 and 3+, while eleven airports have aligned their carbon management strategies with global climate goals and are delivering absolute emissions reductions supported by strengthened stakeholder engagement at Levels 4 and 4+.

North American airports are advancing meaningful carbon reductions and demonstrating the practical steps our industry is taking towards a more sustainable future.
