Environmental Minds showcases Airport Carbon Accreditation at ACI Africa Annual General Assembly & Regional Conference

Environmental Minds – the Administrator of Airport Carbon Accreditation – took part in the 34th ACI Africa Annual General Assembly & Regional Conference, held in Lusaka, Zambia from 13 to 19 September 2025. The event brought together airport leaders from across the region to discuss the future of sustainable aviation, with a strong focus on practical pathways for reducing carbon emissions.

Spyros Morisaios, Director of Operations at Environmental Minds, contributed to the panel on Building Future-Ready Airports Through Sustainability. He discussed how African airports can advance their growth while strengthening their environmental performance through Airport Carbon Accreditation, improved energy efficiency, access to green finance, climate-resilient infrastructure and emerging technologies such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

In addition to the panel, Environmental Minds delivered a dedicated Masterclass on Airport Carbon Accreditation to more than forty airport representatives. The session provided an overview of the programme’s evolution, its global impact, and the requirements for progressing from Level 1 to Level 5. It also explored practical experiences from accredited airports and emphasised the importance of collaboration between airport stakeholders in driving measurable emissions reductions.
