Five airports operated by Motiva in Brazil join Airport Carbon Accreditation at Level 1

Five airports in Brazil operated by Motiva have joined the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme at Level 1, marking an important first step in their journey towards decarbonisation.

By entering the programme, the airports commit to conducting a comprehensive analysis of their CO₂ emissions and laying the groundwork for effective and measurable emissions reduction plans. Their efforts are part of Motiva’s broader sustainability strategy, which includes a commitment to sustainable infrastructure practices, forest restoration initiatives, responsible water, and waste management.

Monique Henriques, Business Director for Airports Brazil at Motiva said: “The certification of the five airports reinforces our commitment to operating with excellence, responsibility and a vision for the future. Being aligned with international sustainability standards is essential to contribute to more efficient and conscious aviation”.

The airports are: Afonso Pena International Airport, Foz do Iguaçu International Airport, Goiânia International Airport, Navegantes International Airport, and São Luís–Marechal Cunha Machado International Airport.
