The airport has reduced more than 90% of its Scope 1 and 2 emissions and has committed to reaching net zero for Scope 3 emissions by 2050 or sooner.<\/p>\n<p>Since joining the programme in 2011, Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Airport has consistently demonstrated leadership in decarbonisation. By 2024, the airport had already reduced greenhouse gas emissions linked to its activities by 93%, thanks to an ambitious strategy launched in 2010. Key actions include the full transition to renewable electricity, the deployment of an electric vehicle fleet, the use of HVO 100 biodiesel for generators, optimisation of energy consumption across infrastructure and equipment, and the replacement of gas boilers with geothermal and waste heat recovery systems.<\/p>\n<p>Looking to the future, the airport is committed to reaching net zero for Scope 3 emissions by 2050. This plan involves close collaboration with partners such as airlines and ground handlers, focusing on the deployment of Sustainable Aviation Fuels, preparing infrastructure for hydrogen and electric aircraft, supporting fleet renewal, and advancing operational optimisation measures such as trajectory and taxiing efficiency improvements.<\/p>\n<p>Olivier Jankovec, Director General at ACI EUROPE, said: \u201cCongratulations to Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Airport on reaching Level 5, the highest level of <em>Airport Carbon Accreditation<\/em>. Since joining the programme back in 2011, the airport has been at the forefront of airport climate action efforts, now operating at net zero for emissions under its direct control and keeping a clear focus on full decarbonisation by 2050.
