Dubrovnik Airport achieves Level 2 of Airport Carbon Accreditation

julio 22, 2025

Dubrovnik Airport, one of the busiest airports in Croatia, has successfully reached Level 2 of Airport Carbon Accreditation. The airport has effectively demonstrated well-defined carbon management practices and target setting, which have led to a significant reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.

With a clear goal to reach net zero emissions by 2042, Dubrovnik Airport aims to reduce emissions per passenger by 90% compared to its 2010 baseline. To support this, the airport has implemented several concrete measures, including the gradual replacement of internal combustion vehicles and equipment with electric alternatives. It has also modernised lighting systems with energy-efficient LED floodlights and advanced control systems.

Furthermore, Dubrovnik Airport is installing photovoltaic power plants with a combined capacity exceeding 4 MWp. Energy renovations of existing buildings and upgrades to cooling systems are also underway, forming part of a comprehensive approach to decarbonisation.
