Curaçao International Airport reaches Level 2 Reduction

febrero 17, 2025

We are delighted to announce that Curaçao International Airport has successfully upgraded to Level 2 Reduction of the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme.

Operated by Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), the airport has implemented a structured approach to reducing its Scope 1 and 2 emissions, focusing on energy efficiency, sustainable transportation, and responsible energy sourcing. Through continuous evaluation of operational processes, the airport is actively working to minimise energy waste and improve efficiency while integrating more sustainable energy solutions.

Curaçao International Airport is also transitioning to a more fuel-efficient vehicle fleet, replacing ageing equipment with energy-efficient alternatives, and exploring environmentally friendly procurement methods to further reduce its environmental impact. As part of its broader sustainability strategy, the airport is proudly participating in the SustainaBUL 2024 Programme, a collaboration with 2030 HUB Caribbean and the University of Curaçao. This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and engages students in real-world sustainability challenges, reinforcing CAP’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and long-term environmental stewardship.
