Amazonia Airports Concessionaire join Airport Carbon Accreditation

Seven airports operated by the Amazonia Airports Concessionaire, part of the VINCI Airports network, have now joined the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme.

Tabatinga Airport, Cruzeiro do Sul Airport and Tefé Airport have entered the programme at Level 1, where airports measure and inventory their carbon footprint to establish a baseline for effective carbon management.

Meanwhile, Boa Vista Airport, Porto Velho Airport, Manaus Airport and Rio Branco Airport have joined the programme at Level 3. At this level, airports actively engage third parties operating on site, including airlines and service providers such as ground handlers, catering companies and air traffic control, in carbon footprint management and emissions reduction efforts.

Rafael Echevarne, Director General of ACI LAC, emphasised the importance of these achievements for the airport sector: “It is a great satisfaction for ACI-LAC to see the airports of the Concessionaire of Amazon Airports reach new levels in the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme. The entry of Tabatinga, Cruzeiro do Sul, and Tefé at Level 1, together with the remarkable progress of Manaus, Porto Velho, Boa Vista, and Rio Branco to Level 3, demonstrates not only commitment but true leadership by Vinci Airports Brazil in sustainability.
