Brazzaville Maya-Maya International Airport achieves reaches Level 3+ Neutrality

We are delighted to announce that Brazzaville Maya-Maya International Airport, the busiest airport in Congo, has successfully upgraded to Level 3+ Neutrality in the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme.

Achieving Level 3+ Neutrality requires airports to expand their carbon footprint assessment to include a range of Scope 3 emissions, such as those generated by third-party activities. Additionally, airports at this level must offset all remaining Scope 1 and 2 emissions using high-quality, internationally recognised carbon credits.

Operated by AERCO, Brazzaville Maya-Maya International Airport has implemented a range of impactful initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint. These include improving energy efficiency, enhancing waste management practices, and preserving the natural environment surrounding the airport. The airport has also placed a strong emphasis on raising awareness among employees, suppliers, and third parties, fostering a collaborative approach to sustainability across its operations.
